Yume 2kki is a collaborative yume nikki sequel created in 2007 by users on 2ch, now known as 5ch. The objective of yume 2kki is to collect effects, wallpapers, witness events and explore maps to view endings. In yume 2kki, you play as a girl named urotsuki . Everything about urotsuki is up to the players interpretation.
Yume 2kki has lots of content and maps to explore, having been updated continuously for the past 16 years and hopefully for many more. anyone can contribute to yume 2kki , whether that be spritesheets, music, maps, wallpapers, bux fixing, or pitching ideas.
I don't know why I like yume 2kki so much, going as far to like it more than the original, yume nikki .
I can surely list reasons why I like it so much though.
as previously mentioned, yume 2kki is up to interpretation. There aren't many set stories in other games but there are themes. In ultra violet, a theme is purple, pastel, and bunnies. Yume 2kki has some aswell but they are usually coincidental. One theme I have noticed in 2kki is vomit and clowns. Because it is up to interpretation, I can view urotsuki how ever I want. I can project everything about myself onto her and people can't tell me I'm wrong, they can pitch their own ideas for her but they can't tell me I'm wrong because they're not right either.
The idea of a character up to everyones interpretation calms me. I love being able to project myself and my issues onto characters, it's the best coping mechanism for me. The only one that works, really. Yume 2kki, more specifically urotsuki , helps me through my depression, elongated feelings of dread, and other personal things. 2kki and urotsuki had been the only things there for me when I was strongly suffering and that must play a huge role in why I cling to it so hard.
another reason I love it so much is the vast selection of worlds there are in 2kki. You see, when you are looking at a 2kki authors maps, you can see similarities, yeah? I can, and seeing these similarities makes me very happy. It's hard putting my feelings into words but when I see this happen I see multiple yume nikki fangames in one big game, which is 2kki. In yume 2kki, there are bright colourful worlds, like worlds authored by GALAXY, and strange grim worlds, like worlds authored by Kontentsu. There are extremely detailed worlds like worlds authored by Noildoof and more simple worlds, like worlds accessible from the Nexus.

the overgrown condominium is a really pretty world.. I like it alot :) I have the path there memorized.. though it's not that hard to memorize. It's a pretty place to visit. I like the rooftop, too.
omg omg Omg god, this is such a cute place. well, no no it's not really cute..Kek.. but i love it so so much ^_^ I really love the whole vibe of it, this event and the string of maps that are attatched to it, this falls under that "multiple-YNFGs-in-one-big-YNFG" thing I was talking about earlier, it's like they're trying to tell a story.. Oh, does what I'm saying make sense? I hope so.. but whatever. I like this world a whoooole lot!
this is my FVAORITE world in all of yume 2kki!!! I love this place, I love it alot. It reminds me of black ace from escape from nevara. It's sooo cute ! ahhh I have so much to say about this wolrd thats just a bunch of blabber . this place is really calming though, i really like kontentsu worlds. I used to fall asleep to the BGM like, everyday in july. And I still do when I'm sleeping over at my grandmas house. it's such a fun place, all of kontentsus worlds are fun places, I wish more people acknowledged this world...
this is the rooftop sector of the tesla garden.. A world which I love very much. I think it's authored by noildoof who makes alot of other gorgeous worlds and was very revolutionary to the development of 2kki seeing as she was the first western author to contribute to 2kki.. in terms of maps. i'm not sure if anyone contributed to its development before that. but oh well ! this section is really pretty, i like the music that plays. I really like the shade of blue for the background though, that's my favorite part :)
hehehe hehehe ! i drew this patchouli using the 2kki paint. Uuuh, I forgot what the actual world is called. But it's a really cute world ! I posted it to YNO screenshots too, if you see it there :) My username is honkytonk, please say hi if you ever see me in game!!
the flooded baths is a really underrated map . the red pool is my favorite sector but that's also because it's the digital forest bgm. or, the digital forest is the flooded baths bgm?!... In the music room, track 299 has the red pool listed at A. And also, in the game files the default speed is the same speed as the red pool. The speed changes based off of if the blue creature is there or not, and I think the blue creature makes it slightly faster. Oh oh, i dont know. I really like this map though. i've drawn it before, too.
